Kolar, earlier known as Kolahala, is situated in the southern part of the state of Karnataka. Kolar is regarded as the Golden city of India owing to the World's second deepest Gold mine located at a depth of 3000 meters. This locality has grown to be known as a rapidly increasing tourist attraction. This region is also famous for various Temples, such as Kolaramma temple and Someshwara temple. The city is also well known for its largest milk exports to different parts of India. As of the latest census, there are 385,410 people residing in Kolar city, wherein there are 195,129 males and a female population is 190,281. Kolar is a developing locality with many commercial and industrial companies starting their operations in this town. Recently, The Government has passed the construction of the largest industrial area in Kolar Gold Fields.
