The latitude and longitude of Basirhat are 22.657402 and 88.867180, respectively. The high and medium lands in Basirhat are constituted of sands and silts with clay blanketing. The low lands are constituted of clays with an accumulation of water. There are many rivers and creeks in Basirhat. The Ichhamati River flows along the northern and eastern areas of the Municipal region, while rivers Jhilla, Sahebkhali, and Dausa drain the places in the southern and western parts of the terrain. The overall slope of the terrain is towards the South-East direction. Basirhat has a Tropical wet and dry climate. Here the yearly temperature is 30.18 degrees centigrade. Basirhat generally receives about 95.98 millimeters of precipitation annually. April is the warmest month, and January is the coldest month.
