Mungeli is a leading city cum municipal council within the District of Mungeli in Chhattisgarh. The area is one of the biggest Tehsils in the State and became a district back in 2012 courtesy of the Chief Minister of the State back then, Dr. Raman Singh. The district is governed by its Nagar Palika Parishad and has a population estimated at 108,387 people as of the year 2001. The languages spoken here include Chhattisgarhi and Hindi.
