Brajrajnagar is a leading municipality cum town in the District of Jharsuguda within the State of Odisha. The town was reportedly named after the founder of the Orient Paper Mills in 1936, Braj Mohan Birla. It is a charming town with several temples constructed by the Birla family. It later became well-known for its coal mines under MCL ownership. There are several coal mines near the town. The area lies at an elevation of 216 meters. The population stood at 80,403 people as of 2011. Odia is widely spoken here while tourist landmarks include the Chandi Mandir, Satya Sai Mandir, Laxmi Narayan Temple, IB Bridge and many others.
