Raisen is a town in Madhya Pradesh, the municipality in the Raisen district. It is the administrative headquarter of the place. The town's name comes from a big fort located on a hilltop. This town is just 45.5 km from Bhopal. It has a total of 35,553 population, where there are 53% of males and 47% females. It has 1503 villages, 9 tehsils, and 6 sub-divisions. It is located at 22 47′ and 23 33′ north latitude and 7721′ and 78 49′ east longitude. Moreover, it has Sehore district on its west, Vidisha district towards the north, Sagar district towards the southeast, and Narsinghpur on the south-eastern part.
