Paschim Vihar is a posh residential area in Delhi that comes under the Punjabi Bagh subzone of West Delhi. The zone developed significantly during the 1980's and is packed with group housing societies, built mostly by the Delhi Development Authority. Paschim Vihar is divided into two parts by the Outer Ring Road. There is the famous West Delhi Cricket Academy in Paschim Vihar which has produced cricketers like Virat Kohli. Nearby residential areas of Paschim Vihar include Punjabi Bagh, Madipur, Paschim Puri, Paschim Vihar Extension, Punjabi Bagh Extension, Tilak Nagar, Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Keshopur, Peeragarhi, Nangloi and Rohini. The area has excellent road and rail connectivity. On its northern edge runs the Rohtak Road (NH10) and the Outer Ring Road divides the east and the west part. Both these roads are well maintained and are 6-8 lanes wide around the area. In this area, the Outer Ring Road is maintained by the MCD and has a flyover at Peera Garhi Chowk and an Underpass and roundabout at Bhera Enclave/Sunder Vihar Crossing. Outer Ring Road also has several foot-over bridges with escalators. Paschim Vihar is also excellently connected with adjoining areas via the Metro. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is the closest to the area. The locality has several reputed educational institutions that contribute immensely towards upgrading the quality of life of its dwellers. Laden with plenty of greenery and open spaces, Paschim Vihar also plays host to numerous shopping hubs and recreational avenues that allow the inhabitants to spend their leisure hours in glee.
