Narela is a tehsil, located in the North Western Delhi district of Delhi, which also forms part of the border between the state of Delhi and the state of Haryana. The neighbouring towns of Narela, New Delhi are Alipur, Mukmelpur, Bawana, and Rai - all of which are only a short while away by road. As it is very close to the Grand Trunk Road, the location functioned as an important market town for these neighbouring areas, a distinction it continues to enjoy today. Already enjoying a rich history, this area is undergoing the process of being urbanized - with lands allotted for a DTC terminal, fire station, roads of varying lengths to make transport and commutes easier, a government hospital, a recreational and club facility, as well as residential complexes for both the public and public service residents. The town of Narela is easily accessible through the Indian Railway system, though for those who prefer flying in or out, there is a close by airport in New Delhi at a short driving distance, the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Narela is also part of the Delhi Metro’s “Master Plan Phase IV” which is currently underway, so improving its accessibility and urban status greatly.
