The coordinates of the place are between 25˚10’ and 25˚35’N latitudes and 90˚15 and 91˚0’ E longitude. It has an overall area of 1887 sq KM. It has a boundary of East Garo Hills on the North, West Khasi Hilles on the East, West Garo Hills on the West and Bangladesh on the South. As of 2011, the population is 142,334. The tourist landmarks are Baghmara, Nengkong, Siju, Balpakram, Imilchang Dare. Garo is the primary language; apart from that, A’Tong language is also familiar with the Bengali language sideways.
