Jamnagar is a city lying on the western coastline of the country in Gujarat. It lies within the Saurashtra Region. It is also the administrative headquarters for the District of Jamnagar. It is the fifth biggest city in the Indian State of Gujarat as well. The city was developed during the rule of Jamsaib in the 1920s. It was also developed during the reign of Jam Saheb Shri Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji in the 1940s as well. The city lies southwards from the Gulf of Kutch, approximately 337 km away from Gandhinagar. The world’s biggest petrochemicals and oil refining complex has been set up in Jamnagar by Reliance Industries. This lies in proximity to the Moti Khavdi Village in the district. The area is also home to the Nayara Energy refinery along with a Thermal Power Plant. Jamnagar covers 125 square kilometres with a population estimated at 479,920 people as of 2011. The main languages spoken here include Kutchi, Gujarati, Hindi, and English. The Jamnagar coordinates are 22.47°N 70.07°E.
