Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana aims to provide financial aid to the weaker sections of the society and help them build their own houses. You can easily register and apply for the scheme through the PB PMAY Urban portal.

Under the Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana, individuals with an annual income equal to or less than Rs 3 lakhs, will be allotted houses first. If your annual income is more than Rs 3 lakhs but less than Rs 5 lakhs, you will be allocated houses in the next phase. Under this scheme, individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) are provided free houses.

Eligibility for Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana

You must be a resident of Punjab.
You must be more than 18 years of age.
You or anyone from your family should not be a government employee.
You should belong to the backward classes to be eligible for this scheme.

How to apply for Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana?

You can apply for Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana through the PMAY portal by following the given steps:

Step 1: Go to Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana’s official website at https://pmidcprojects.punjab.gov.in/pmay/.

Step 2: Click on ‘Citizen Form’ on the homepage.

Step 3: You will be redirected to another page, asking you if you have your own land for building a house. Click on Yes or No.

Step 4: After this, the registration form will be displayed on your screen. The form is available in English and Punjabi.

Step 5: Fill in your personal details like your name, your father’s/husband’s name, age, gender, permanent address and present address.

Step 6: Next, choose your district and town from the given list of options. Enter your mobile number, marital status, Aadhaar number, religion, caste, city, bank name, bank account number and annual income.

Step 7: Mention the number of years you have stayed in the city, your occupation, type of employment, average monthly income of your household and whether you own a BPL (below poverty line) card.

Step 8: After you have filled the application form, upload your passport-sized photographs and other required documents.

Step 9: You are also required to add the details of another family member. Mention their name, what relationship they share with you, their age, gender, and Aadhaar number. You can add information concerning more family members by clicking on the ‘Add More Family Members Details’ option.

Step 10: Click on Submit.

How to view the beneficiary list of Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana?

Step 1: To view the beneficiary list of Punjab Shehri Awas Yojana, you need to visit the website of the Prime Minister Housing Scheme at https://pmaymis.gov.in/default.aspx.

Step 2: On the home page, click on ‘Search Beneficiary’ on the Main Navigation Menu and choose ‘Search by Name’.

Step 3: You will be taken to another page where you have to enter your Aadhaar number.

Step 4: Click on Show. You will be able to view the beneficiary list.
