The state government set up the Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CGHB) in 2004, with an aim to provide affordable housing to the various sections of people. Constituted under the Chhattisgarh Housing Board Act, 1972, the Chhattisgarh Housing Board (छत्तीसगढ़ गृह निर्माण मंडल) was started as an autonomous body. The CG Housing Board has formulated and executed various housing schemes in Chhattisgarh. The CGHB has, in fact, launched specialised housing schemes for different income groups, so that every individual of the state can avail of housing facilities at affordable prices.

CGHB housing schemes for EWS and LIG buyers

While catering to the housing needs of everyone, the CGHB has people from the economically weaker sections (EWS) and lower-income group (LIG) as its key target group.

This is reflected in the fact that since its inception, the CGHS has built 1,02,113 houses and 85% of these houses have been built for people belonging to the EWS and the LIG categories.

The specialised housing schemes meant for these sections of people include the Vihar Yojna, the Atal Awas Yojna and the Deendayal Awas Yojna.

CGHB Housing Scheme 2021

Atal Vihar Yojana

Those interested in investing in housing projects of the CGHB can apply for a unit under the Rs 1,845-crore Atal Vihar Yojana. Under the scheme, the Chhattisgarh Housing Board is selling 183 units, meant for the EWS (under the name Kusum) and the LIG (under the name Palash) categories. All the units are located at Kotapal, Bijapur.

Unit price

Spread between 484 and 1,032 sq ft, the homes will come in the price range of Rs 6.95 lakhs to Rs 15.75 lakhs.

At the time of registration, candidates from the EWS group have to pay Rs 25,000, while applicants from the LIG category have to pay Rs 50,000 as the registration fee. The remaining amount for the flat has to be paid in six installments.
