Villagers protest against NAINA policy: Report

August 4,2o23: Around 4,000 villagers who are affected by the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) protested against City and Industrial Development Corporation’s (Cidco) land pooling from locals, mentions a HT report. Showing their they are on foot march from Panvel to  to Mantralaya in Churchgate.

As per the  Cidco’s scheme of land pooling, Cidco will have 60% of land for infrastructural development and the project affected people (PAP) get 40% of the land with an FSI of 2.5. There is no monetary compensation involved in this deal.

Cidco was appointed as Special Planning Authority to plan development of the areas surrounding the Navi Mumbai International Airport – Naina. This project is spread across 560 sq km and has 256 villages of Raigad district and 14 villages of thane district.

April 26, 2023: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has floated tenders for building of infrastructural facilities – roads and footpaths in Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA).

The tenders have been floated under Town Planning Schemes (TPS) 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, and the development on land under these schemes will begin soon. The tender process will be done online in a transparent way.

Also, the work of a bridge near Devad village connecting NAINA with New Panvel is in its final stage, said Sanjay Mukherjee, vice-chairman and managing director, Cidco.

NAINA is being developed by Cidco on an area of 371 sqkm around the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). This project is being implemented through 12 TPS.
