Under its mega land record digitisation programme, the Karnataka government in March 2018 launched an app to provide key details of land and property through an app, Dishaank. The primary aim of the state to launch this app was to reduce the number of property-related frauds in Karnataka while also offering easy access to land records for property buyers and investors.
Even though the official name of the app is Dishaank, it is also sometimes spelled as Dishaak app.

Information available on Dishaank app
Using the Dishaank, you can get the details of any land or property in Karnataka. Apart from helping users know the khata and survey number of plots, the app also helps them ascertain whether the plot of land they are purchasing is standing on rajakaluves or lake beds or any other water bodies or on government land. Through the Geo-referenced map on the Dishaank app, you can also check if the land survey number mentioned in your khata certificate is accurate.

Launched by the Karnataka state government’s revenue department, the Dishaank app is based on 1960 survey maps available with the state. It is different from similar apps launched by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority and other civic agencies in the state in the sense that those don’t provide the information about the original nature of the site.
Those planning to buy land, plot or residential property in Karnataka must consult the app to check the veracity of the fact provided by the property owner before they decide to make the purchase.

Land details available on Dishaank app
Do note that the Dishaank app only provides only land details like survey number and its exact location. To get the information about its owner, you will have to visit the state’s land record website, the RTC Bhoomi portal. Efforts are, however, being made to include land and property owner details in the app, too.
