Gurgaon, Pataudi, Rewari railway stations to get a revamp

Prime minister Narendra Modi will soon launch renovation works at Gurgaon, Rewari and Pataudi railway stations with a total cost of Rs 219 crore, according to a statement by Gurgaon MP and minister of state Rao Inderjit Singh. Passenger seating arrangements, train information display, foot overbridges and waiting rooms, among others, will be set up at these railway stations.

In a statement, railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that in the first phase, about Rs 200 crore was being spent on renovation of the Gurgaon railway station, about Rs 7 crore at the Pataudi railway station and about Rs 12 crore at the Rewari railway station. He further said that passengers would be able to enter many railway stations through a second entry.

After his meeting with Ashwini Vaishnaw, minister Rao Inderjit Singh raised the demand to resume the Garhi Harsaru to Farukhnagar-Delhi DEMU train, suspended during the pandemic. The railway minister ordered its resumption considering passenger demand. Additionally, discussions were held regarding underpasses and foot-over bridges near Garhi Harsaru and Bhimgarh Kheri railway stations, with the minister instructing officers to submit reports on these demands promptly.

Also, a washing facility will be developed at Rewari railway station. The Vande Bharat train will make a stop there, the railway minister said. These developments aim to enhance railway facilities, connectivity and passenger convenience in the region.
