Haryana extends property tax deposit deadline to Jan 31, 2023

Kerala property tax: How to pay it online?

Haryana government has extended the last date for depositing property tax from December 31, 2022 to January 31, 2023. The entire interest will be waived if property tax is paid by the end of December whereas a waiver of 50 per cent will be applicable on depositing the tax dues by January 31, 2023.

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that the government is looking for a way to regularise the illegally developed colonies outside urban limits, and rules are being revised for this purpose. Old areas of the cities, including such colonies, will be declared as the ‘core area’, and those living in these colonies for over 50 years will be allowed mixed land use as properties in such locations do not fall under the residential or commercial category. The government aims to develop cities in a planned manner.

According to Urban Local Bodies minister Kamal Gupta, an increase of over 33 per cent was registered in the number of properties in the state after the government decided to create a new property ID for the benefit of the citizens. He added that the number of properties assessed for house tax across the state was 32,06,839, the total tax assessment of which was Rs 540.56 crore. At present, the tax assessment of the surveyed properties has increased up to Rs 924.11 crore.
