In Delhi, one can apply for a legal heir certificate online and offline. Those who are not comfortable with performing this task online, can also visit a common service centre to apply for a surviving member certificate, the nomenclature used for the certificate in the national capital.

 

How to apply offline for a surviving member certificate in Delhi?

Fill out the relevant application form, attach copies of all the necessary documents and submit it to the concerned SDM or tehsildar office. We will outline the applicable proforma, documents and other requirements in the subsequent sections of this guide.

How to apply online for a surviving member certificate in Delhi?

The application for a surviving member certificate can be made on the e-Delhi official portal. Copy and paste the following address to your browser, to reach the Delhi e-district services page: https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in/

Before proceeding, you will have to register on the website.

 

 

Once you input your Aadhaar number and the captcha code, a detailed form will be available.

 

 

Fill in all the required details to register.

 

 

 

 

Once registered, you can apply for a surviving member certificate, by filling out the following form online.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once all the details are filled in, submit your application and upload all the necessary documents.

Documents to be submitted with the application

  1. Identity proof of the applicant and all the surviving family members (any one is mandatory)
  1. Present/permanent address proof of the applicant (any one of the following)
  1. Death certificate of the deceased person
  2. List of surviving members, if more than four, in the following format:

 

 

  1. Singed copy of the self-declaration form along with the application form.
  2. One passport-size coloured photograph of the applicant and all the surviving family members (5cm x 4.5cm or 2”x1.75”).
