In September 2022, the Delhi government has made it mandatory for residents of the national capital to either opt for or opt out of its power subsidy scheme. Those who opt for the power subsidy will receive it in the next month’s bill. Interested candidates can apply for Delhi power subsidy by either giving a missed call, or sending a WhatsApp message, or submitting an application form at billing centers.
Give a missed call
Those interested in receiving the power subsidy from the Delhi government can apply for it by giving a missed call on the following number.

Sending WhatsApp message on 7011311111
WhatsApp users can send a message on the same number and reply to a few questions to opt in or out of the power subsidy.
Step 1: Write a message saying, ‘Hi’.
Step 2: You will be asked to choose a language between Hindi and English. Select your preferred language.
Step 3: To opt for the subsidy, provide your CA number. The CA number is your 9-digit customer account number mentioned on the bill.
Step 4: After you type your CA number in the message and send it, you will receive a prefilled application form. You will be asked to check your details.
Step 5: If details mentioned are correct, reply ‘Yes’. If not, choose ‘No, try again’.
Step 6: If your response is ‘Yes’, you will receive another message with an acknowledgement number.
Step 7: At this stage, you will be asked to provide your e-mail ID. However, this is optional. Click on ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ as you wish.
Step 8: If you choose to provide your e-mail ID, you will have to type it.
Step 9: You will receive a message acknowledging the same.

Submit applications at billing centers
To apply for the power subsidy offline, visit the nearest billing center, fill the form, attach your electricity bill, and submit it.
Last date to apply for power subsidy in Delhi
You will have to apply by the last date of a particular month to get the subsidy for that month. This means, you need to follow this process monthly.
“You will get subsidy based on which month you are applying for subsidy… If you apply in September, you will get a subsidy from October. Similarly, if you opt for it in October, you will get a subsidy in November. This scheme is valid for one year and it will get renewed every year… People will get a form along with their electricity bills in their September cycle, which one will have to fill if they want to continue to avail the subsidy on electricity,” Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in September, while announcing the voluntary scheme.
