A permanent account number (PAN) is a 10-digit alphanumeric code that keeps track of a person’s financial history. It also serves as identification. The PAN must contain accurate information, particularly your photograph and signature, which must be validated. It is necessary to have an accurate photo and signature on your PAN Card in order to obtain a credit card, investment, or loan. Documents to change PAN card image and signature
To change the photo and signature on a PAN card, an applicant must present the following documents:
- Proof of DOB, address and identity
- Copy of Aadhaar Card if Aadhaar is stated
- PAN supplementary documents change application request
- PAN Proof: Copy of PAN card/allotment letter
- Change Proof: The requested photo of the applicant (in case of photo change). The photo on the PAN card should be 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm (132.28 pixels x 94.49 pixels).
Steps to change image of PAN card
- Go to Protean eGov Technologies Limited’s Official Website
- Choose the option request for New PAN Card Or/And Changes Or Corrections in PAN Data’ as the Application Type.
- Enter the necessary details such as the mobile number, DOB etc.
- Enter the provided captcha
- A token number would be assigned
- Select how you wish to send your documents.
- Next, select the checkbox in the column on the left under the section ‘Photo Mismatch.’ Only by checking the box will your photo be changed or updated.
- Add the photograph from a computer or retrieved from DigiLocker.
- Submit the application form once you have all of the necessary documents and information.
- You will then be required to make a payment of Rs 101. This can be accomplished through net banking, credit card, debit card, or demand draught.
- If you use net banking, you will be charged a payment gateway surcharge of Rs 4 + service tax.
- After you pay, your application will be submitted for approval, and you will receive an email with an acknowledgement number.
Steps to update signature on PAN card
- Use the form under ‘Request for New PAN Card Or/And Changes Or Corrections in PAN Data,’ found on the website of Protean eGov Technologies Limited.
- Write the PAN Card number correctly
- Fill all the compulsory fields that have been marked with an asterisk *
- Choose the signature mismatch column
- Submit the application along with the payment
- Payment can be done with a credit card, debit card, net banking, and demand draft. If you use online banking, keep in mind that you will be charged an extra surcharge of Rs.4 + service tax (for the payment gateway facility).
- You will receive an email with an acknowledgement number after your payment has been confirmed. This can be used to track the status of the Pan application.
Steps to update photo and signature in PAN card offline
You can update/change your PAN Card photo and/or signature offline by following the steps below:
- Request for new PAN Card and/or changes or corrections in PAN Data Form(https://www.tin-nsdl.com/downloads/pan/download/Request-for-New-PAN-Card-or-and-Changes-or-Correction-in-PAN-Data-Form.pdf)
- Fill out the information
- Attach any necessary documents, such as proof of address, proof of identity, passport-size pictures, and so on.
- Following that, send the form to the nearest NSDL collecting center.
- Offline, pay the necessary charges for PAN card update/correction. Following successful payment, you will be given a 15-digit acknowledgement number to trace the application in the future.
