How to check Cidco-issued commencement certificates online?

A commencement certificate (CC) is a legal document that every developer has to obtain before starting construction of their real estate project. The CC is issued by the local body, which is responsible for planning of the town.

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) recently sent notices to 529 illegal structures in Navi Mumbai.  Cidco has made the process of giving CC online. Homebuyers should check for the CC online before investing in a property to prevent issues related to fraudulent transactions.

To check the commencement certificate go to the Cidco portal at https://cidco.maharashtra.gov.in/#gsc.tab=0 . On the homepage, under citizen/business services, select Cidco’s Online Plan Approval System (COPAS).

You will reach http://copas.cidcoindia.com/SWC.Client/Login.aspx

On this page, click on Citizen Search and you will reach http://copas.cidcoindia.com/BpamsClient/CitizenSearch/CitizenSearch.aspx?sOrgName=CIDCO . Select CC and you will see a list below.

 

In the box you can enter the plot number of the property and click on the certificate to see the CC which will appear as shown below.

Scroll down and you will see the sanction of building permission and commencement certificate granted by Cidco.
