Top IT cities in India

India is home to many tech companies and one of the fastest-growing IT industries in the world. This article focuses on the top five IT cities in India that have made a significant impact in technology.

Bengaluru  

Often referred as the ‘Silicon Valley of India’, Bengaluru is the leading information technology (IT) hub of the country. It is a home to many multinational tech companies, including Infosys, Wipro and TCS, in addition to many startups. The city’s prominence in the IT sector is attributed to the emergence of many educational institutions, such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), producing skilled IT professionals.

The government of Karnataka has also made substantial efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover, Bengaluru has pleasant climate and cosmopolitan culture, attracting tech-professionals from everywhere.

Electronic City, Whitefield, Koramangala, Marathahalli, HSR Layout and BTM Layout are some of the areas that house IT companies in Bengaluru.

Hyderabad  

Hyderabad, also known as ‘Cyberabad’, has emerged as the second leading IT city in India. It is the headquarters of tech giants like Microsoft and Google in India. It has made progress in terms of infrastructure, promoting an environment conducive for the growth of IT companies. Hyderabad is also a home to HITEC City, a township with numerous IT parks.

Hyderabad is known for good transportation system and well-developed real estate sector, a major attraction for IT companies to set up their base. The state government has implemented various policies to support the growth of the IT industry, making it a desirable destination for IT companies and professionals.

Pune
