Jaipur Airport: Terminals

The Sanganer Airport comprises two terminals:

Terminal 1: The Terminal 1 of the airport at Sanganer was initially used for operating international flights until July 2012. The airport authorities decided to shift the international flights to the newly constructed Terminal 2 and reserve terminal for cargo operations. In 2017, commercial flight operations were resumed in the old terminal owing to the increasing passenger load on Terminal 2. Renovation work started in December 2017. The Jaipur Airport Terminal 1 is expected to be operational by September 2023.

Terminal 2: The domestic Terminal 2 building of the Jaipur airport, opened on July 1, 2009, caters to domestic and international arrivals and departures. The Terminal 2 at the airport in Jaipur is equipped with various facilities, such as:

The international airport in Jaipur has one runway spanning 11,178 ft in length. Runway 9/27 became operational on September 15, 2016, to handle bigger aircraft, such as Boeing 747 and the extension was made from 9,174 ft to 11,178 ft.

Jaipur Airport: First Silent Airport in India

Airports that focus on reducing the background noise in terminals are referred to as silent airports. The other silent airports in India include Mumbai Airport, Chennai Airport, Delhi Airport, Hyderabad Airport, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow.

Jaipur Airport is known as the first silent airport in India. In February 2023, the authorities started sending messages to passengers regarding flight updates. A new system with an automated public address system and multiple digital screens was installed at the Jaipur Airport. With these facilities, the aim was to avoid noisy speakers for sharing important flight updates while ensuring convenience for passengers and avoid long queues to enquire about airport arrivals and departures.

Every passenger can access important updates and information from the airport authorities. Speakers will continue to be used to make emergency announcements at the airport.
