July 4, 2024: Renowned poet, lyricist, and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar recently invested in a property at Mumbai’s Sagar Samrat Building in Juhu. The new apartment, spanning 111.43 square metre, cost him Rs 7.76 crore, inclusive of a stamp duty of Rs 46.02 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000.
Javed also owns another adjacent apartment of 113.20 square metres, purchased for Rs 7 crore in 2021. He currently resides in a different unit from these two within the same cooperative housing society.
In recent times, several notable figures from Hindi cinema have made significant property investments in Mumbai. Aamir Khan bought an apartment in Pali Hill for Rs 9.75 crore on June 25, while Amitabh Bachchan acquired three office units in Veer Savarkar Signature building, Andheri West, for about Rs 60 crore on June 20. Actress Triptii Dimri also purchased a luxury property in Bandra West for Rs 14 crore on June 3.
