Karnataka to introduce Automated Plan Approval system in Bengaluru

Building plans in Ghaziabad will now be approved online

October 10, 2023: The Karnataka state government has plans to introduce an Automated Plan Approval (APA) system in Bangalore that will approve building plans for construction of a house on a plot up to 50/60 foot in the city, said D K Shivakumar, deputy chief minister and Bengaluru development minister, a Hindu report mentioned.

 

How will the Automated Plan Approval system work?

 

According to the Hindu report, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be responsible for implementing the system.

Additionally, the Karnataka government is also considering replacing the Self-Assessment of Property Tax Scheme, where property owners are declaring value of their property as far less than what is actual. Because of this, the city is losing out on property tax. To curtail this, the Karnataka state government is looking at issuing digital property documents to property owners after surveying their properties.
