The Kochi Municipal Corporation (KMC) is the municipal authority responsible for the administration of Kochi city. The city is a part of Ernakulam, covers an area of 94.88 sqkm, and is divided into 74 administrative wards. Members of the corporation council are elected from these wards for a period of five years. - The following screen will appear. Click on ‘Property Tax (Quick Pay)’ option. Registered users can click on ‘Property Tax (Payment for Reg Users)’ option.
- In the next page, choose ‘Ward Year’ from the drop-down menu. Provide details such as Ward Number/ Door Number/ Sub Number. Click on ‘Search’ option.
- Provide email ID and mobile number and enter the captcha. Click on ‘Pay Now.’
- Online payment details will be displayed on the next page. Click confirm to proceed for payment.
- The payment gateway will be displayed on the screen. Enter card/bank details and proceed to complete the payment.
- After successful payment, a receipt will be generated. Download the receipt for future reference.

Kochi Municipal Corporation: History
During the second half of the nineteenth century, three municipalities existed in the Cochin area namely Fort Cochin, Mattancherry, and Ernakulam were the three at the time. Fort Cochin was incorporated as a municipality on November 1, 1866. In 1896, the Maharaja of Cochin formed separate boards for Mattancherry and Ernakulam and local administration was established in these areas.

- Development of standardised digital geo-referenced land-use map and base map
For implementing and enforcing the proposal envisaged in this Master Plan, areas are zoned under various zones such as residential, commercial, public and semi-public, industrial, transportation, dry agriculture, mixed-residential and commercial, Heritage zone, Recreational1 (Open Space), recreational 2 (Built Up), Transit-oriented development, public utilities, conservation area, eco-sensitive areas, water bodies, buffer (water bodies), Special zone A: Wholesale market, Special zone B: Urban agriculture facilitation centre, Special zone C: IT Industries.
