Due to the increasing traffic and the need for better connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The Noida Authority, the agency in charge of Noida’s development, came up with the proposal to build the Mahamaya Flyover. It spans the Yamuna River and the adjacent surroundings for around 6 km.

The Mahamaya Flyover has multiple lanes for vehicular traffic, including distinct lanes for two- and four-wheeled vehicles. To ensure a steady flow of traffic, it has entry and exit ramps at various locations.
