Udaipur Airport: Structure

Spanning across 504 acre, Maharana Pratap Airport features a single runway measuring 2,743 metre in length. The apron, measuring 250 by 150 metre, facilitates the parking of up to five Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 type aircraft simultaneously. Additionally, a new apron has been constructed on the left side of the existing one, specifically designated for executive and private aircraft. The airport’s new terminal building, covering an area of 12,175 square metre and constructed at a cost of Rs 80 Crore, boasts modern amenities.

This terminal is equipped with two aerobridges, four check-in counters, and the capacity to handle 600 passengers during peak hours. Maharana Pratap Airport is well-equipped with state-of-the-art navigational and landing aids, including DVOR, Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), and Non-Directional Beacon (NDB). Furthermore, the airport features a CAT-I Instrument Landing System (ILS) to enhance its operational capabilities.

The construction of a new terminal at Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur is underway to bolster its passenger-handling capacity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the foundation-laying ceremony for the upcoming terminal building in October 2023. Spanning an expansive area of 40,000 square metre, the new Udaipur Airport terminal is projected to become operational by June 2026. The estimated construction cost for this state-of-the-art terminal is Rs 887 Crore. The facility will feature an additional 42 check-in counters, further streamlining passenger services.
