Work on the 33.5km Mumbai Metro Line-3, also known as the Aqua Line, is 80.6% complete, says Mumbai Metro 3 in a tweet.
Aqua Line has 28 stations and is the first underground Mumbai Metro rail. Divided into phases, phase-1 runs from Aarey to BKC while phase-2 operates between BKC to Cuffe Parade. While Aarey to BKC has achieved 86.4% completion, BKC to Cuffe Parade is 76% complete.
Phase-1 of Aqua Metro is expected to be operational by December 2023.
As of March 31, 2023, the Aqua Line’s overall civil works completed is 92.2%, the overall systems works completed is 49%, overall station construction is 89.2% completed, depot works is 59.5% completed, mainline track works completed is 58.5% and tunneling completed is 100%.
