Prestige Group enters deal with ADIA and Kotak AIF

The iconic 23- storey Air India building at Nariman point will be sold to Maharashtra government for Rs 1,600 crore. While the finer details are being worked out, Maharashtra government has asserted that it will go ahead with the deal only if all offices operating out of the building vacate.

Under the ownership of AI Assets Holdings Ltd, Air India building was the headquarters of Air India until 2013, post which the corporate office was shifted to Delhi.

According to media reports, Maharashtra government is interested in this deal as Mantralaya is in the vicinity. This is the second time Maharashtra government has approached as a bidder after a proposal to buy the building for official purposes was rejected by AI Assets Holdings Ltd. In January 2022. In addition to the Maharashtra government, the RBI also bid for purchasing the building.
