The National Highway-75 (NH75), previously known as the National Highway-48, is a major transportation route in India that connects Mangaluru in the west to Vellore in the east. Covering a distance of 862 kilometre (km), the highway traverses three Indian states- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

NH75: History and significance
The NH75 was initially built as the NH48, and was renumbered after the rationalisation of highway numbers in 2010. This highway spans across all three geographical regions of Karnataka, namely Karavali, Malenadu and Bayaluseeme.
NH75: Route and connectivity
The NH75 starts at Bantwal in Karnataka and passes through various cities and towns before terminating at Vellore in Tamil Nadu. The highway bypasses the main town areas of Hassan and Kunigal, reducing traffic congestion and travel time. It passes through several other major cities and towns, including Nellyadi, Shiradi ghat, Sakleshpura, Hassan, Yediyur, Kunigal, Bangalore, Kolar, Mulbagal, Venkatagirikota, Pernambut, Gudiyattam and Katpadi. The route spans some of the most scenic regions of Karnataka, offering breathtaking views of the Western Ghats.
NH75: Features
Six lanes have been added to some sections of the NH75 to ease traffic congestion, and several flyovers and underpasses have been built to provide a smooth travel experience. The highway has several rest areas and food courts along the way, allowing travellers to relax and re-energise before resuming their journey.
