Over 23,811 people get ownership rights under PM-UDAY

The Pradhan Mantri Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY), till July 16 has given property ownership rights to 23,811 people. This was informed to the Lok Sabha in a written reply by Delhi housing and urban affairs minister Tokhan Sahu. 

According to Sahu, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) received over 1,22,729 applications for ownership rights under the PM-UDAY. 

Additionally, the DDA has informed that Rs 2,173.81 crore has been allotted towards projects approved under the Urban Development Fund (UDF) during the last five years (2019-20 to 2023-24), mentioned Sahu as part of the written reply. As per media reports, over 22 projects under the UDF are in the implementation stage. 

In 2019, the Union Cabinet through the PM-UDAY granted ownership rights to people living in unauthorised colonies.
