PSTM certificate: What is it and how to get one?

Students who study in Tamil Medium receive a PSTM certificate. This certificate is provided to those who complete their SSLC, HSC, or degree in Tamil. It is important to note that the certificate is only granted to students who studied in the Tamil language and does not imply that they took Tamil as a subject in high school or college.

To demonstrate that you are a Tamil-medium student, a PSTM certificate is required while filling out the application for TNPSC group examinations (SSLC, HSC, Degree). The institution, such as a school, college, or university, where you pursue your education issues the certificate. It’s the responsibility of the principal or headmaster of your school or college to issue the certificate.

For those who have completed their education in Tamil, TNPSC has introduced a reservation of 20%. A checkbox may ask if you studied in Tamil while submitting an application for any TNPSC group tests.
