Pune: Quick facts
|
Social and physical infrastructure
Pune is home to an array of schools colleges and health care facilities. As many universities and schools are located here, the city enjoys a vast skilled labour pool. Several multispecialty hospitals and clinics provide comprehensive healthcare services.
The city’s physical infrastructure consists of an expanding road network system, public transport systems, and utilities. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) oversees urban planning as well as infrastructural developments ensuring that it meets the resident’s needs. The infrastructure is designed not only to improve people’s lives but also significantly boost the real estate market of Pune, an attractive destination for those desiring housing or investment properties. In fact projects like the Outer Ring Road and Pune Airport stand to gain from these advances in terms of drawing new age buyers who need better connectivity.
Safety and cleanliness
Among the Indian cities, Pune has a relatively high safety index due to effective policing and community safety initiatives in place. The city is recognized for its cleanliness and ranks at 10th position in the Swachh Survekshan, an annual cleanliness survey done by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Waste management practices are a testament to Pune’s commitment to cleanliness and sanitation while public awareness campaigns support this.
Livability and ease of living
Pune has consistently been among the top-ranking cities in India according to the Ease of Living Index. The index evaluates parameters such as quality life, economic ability, sustainability, education, healthcare, infrastructure etc. Pune’s balanced urban development has contributed towards its livability and the presence of public services and community engagement initiatives have also further enabled this.
Connectivity and infrastructure
Pune is strategically placed and well connected to major cities like Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The six-lane Pune-Mumbai Expressway has greatly reduced the travel time between the two cities. Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link is also enhancing the accessibility of these places by linking it with Navi Mumbai and through this, easier access can be made towards Pune.
Some of the ongoing infrastructure projects in Pune are:
Pune Metro: The expansion of the metro rail system along with better road connectivity has led to the emergence of previously unreachable areas with housing and commercial appeal. With a budgetary allocation of about Rs. 11, 522 crores, Pune Metro ranks among one of the most expensive metro rail projects estimated to be completed in next five years, connecting Hinjewadi, Shivajinagar, Kharadi, etc.
Outer Ring Road project: The Pune’s Outer Ring Road Project is 136.80 km long and it seeks to reduce traffic congestion by providing a bypass for vehicles travelling to and from neighbouring districts. The project includes significant infrastructure, such as 14 interchanges and multiple underpasses and overpasses, designed to facilitate smoother transit and improve connectivity across the region. This development benefits projects like Pride World City, situated along it, as it improves accessibility towards the township making it an ideal place for potential home owners.
Mumbai-Pune Expressway upgrades: The upgrades on Mumbai-Pune Expressway will create a better experience for those travelling between these two cities. Travel time is expected to be reduced to just two hours after completion of the missing link project, bypassing Khandala ghat section that is usually congested. By reducing the distance by almost six kilometers, this development cuts the travel time by half an hour. Residential properties situated along the highway are poised to benefit from such improvements.
Purandar Airport: The proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport is the answer to resolve the saturation of Pune International airport. With approximately 2,832 hectares of land available, this new airport will have a passenger capacity of 75 million per year with two parallel runways. It is expected that there would be improvement in terms of flight connectivity within Pune city as well as surrounding regions. This development will positively support economic development and improve logistics for local industries, which will further stimulate the real estate growth prospects.
Pune-Nashik Semi High-Speed Rail Corridor: A proposed 234.60 km semi-high-speed double rail line between Pune and Nashik is called the Pune-Nashik Semi-High-Speed Rail Corridor Project with 24 stations proposed to be built on it. Greenfield line for passenger trains is supposed to be operational by 2027 with a maximum speed of 200 km/h where journey time from Pune to Nashik will not exceed two hours. The project will connect important MIDC areas such as Sinnar Satpur, Chakan, and Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in Khed, Narayangaon, and Manchar, further enhancing the region’s real estate potential.
Pride World City- accessibility and amenities
Pride World City is strategically located in Charholi Budruk, allowing it to capitalize on Pune’s infrastructure advancements and enjoy excellent connectivity to key transportation hubs and upcoming projects. Situated along the Pune Outer Ring Road, the project is also just a 15-minute drive from the upcoming Purandar Airport. Residents benefit from easy access to major IT hubs such as Kharadi IT Park, located approximately 14 km away via Nagar Road and the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway. Additionally, the area boasts a vibrant community atmosphere with a plethora of amenities, including a clubhouse, swimming pools, landscaped gardens, co-working spaces, grocery stores, and salons. The project’s commitment to well-being is reflected in its nature-centric amenities, such as expansive green spaces and walking trails. Charholi Budruk itself is an up-and-coming residential area with excellent social infrastructure and connectivity, positioned between Kalyani Nagar and Hadapsar. With its strategic location, diverse housing options, and focus on modern living, Pride World City stands out as an ideal choice for those seeking an integrated lifestyle experience in Pune.
Conclusion
Pune’s infrastructure development, connectivity, safety measures and cleanliness are key factors that make it one of India’s most liveable cities. As Pune continues to grow and improve through ongoing and planned developments, it remains an attractive place both for residents and business alike. The link between infrastructure and real estate development whereby better access and improved amenities directly affect property values in the city presents investment opportunities especially at sites such as Pride World City that stand to gain from these improvements.
