March 26, 2024: Rekha Jhunjhunwala, the wife of the late investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, has acquired a flat worth Rs 11.76 crore in the Walkeshwar area of South Mumbai. The apartment, spanning 1,666 square foot (sqft) of carpet area, is situated in a building over 50 years old near the Arabian Sea named Rockside Apartment, as per property registration documents obtained by IndexTap.com. Jhunjhunwala paid over Rs 59 lakh for stamp duty and registration charges, with the transaction being registered on March 15, 2024. Additionally, the apartment includes one car parking space measuring around 376 sqft.
In the previous year, Rekha Jhunjhunwala had purchased five commercial office spaces collectively covering 1.94 lakh sqft in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Chandivali in Andheri West for a total of Rs 739 crore. The company, Kinnteisto LLP, in which Jhunjhunwala is a partner, acquired two offices spanning 26,422 sqft and 30,172 sqft on the 14th floor of The Capital in BKC for Rs 123.99 crore and rs 145.33 crore respectively in October 2023.
Furthermore, the company procured larger office space on the 18th and 19th floors of the same building developed by Wadhwa Group Holdings for Rs 331.68 crore. These office units, 1802 and 1901, cover 69,425 sqft in total. The collective transaction amounts to Rs 601 crore and includes 124 car parking spaces. In a separate transaction registered on October 16, 2023, Kinnteisto LLP also acquired two office units covering 68,195 sqft carpet area on the eighth floor of the Boomerang commercial building developed by Kanakia Spaces in Andheri East for Rs 137.99 crore. This deal includes 110 car parking spaces, and the purchaser paid stamp duty of Rs 8.27 crore.
