Surat, an industrial hub in Gujarat, has a popular garden known as the Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden located on the banks of the Tapi River. The garden boasts over 1,000 plant varieties and other attractions such as a toy railway, the Columbus, the Crazy Jump, the Injecto, the Free Fall Jump, the Rocket Space and a hot air balloon trip.
The garden was inaugurated in 2011 by Gujarat’s then chief minister, Narendra Modi. A budget of Rs 6.85 crore was allotted for the development of this garden. It is the city’s largest garden, covering 1.40 lakh square metres.
Surat’s Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden has over a thousand ornamental plants, herbs and exotic flower species. It is also noted for having the greatest collection of tropical plants. A cactus greenhouse displays cactus plants of various breeds, shapes and sizes in the garden. Moreover, the garden’s focal point is a tiny lake.

Botanical Garden Surat: Timings
The garden is open from 10 AM to 10 PM. Every Monday, garden maintenance is scheduled. It takes at least three hours for visitors to see and explore the garden.
Botanical Garden Surat: Entry fee
- Rs 10 for visitors between the ages of 12 and 64
- Rs 5 for children between the ages of 5 and 12
- The entry for children under the age of 5 and those with special needs is free.
- Rs 5 for adults above the age of 64
- Rs 2 for children in primary and intermediate school

Botanical Garden Surat: Best time to visit
Since Surat has a good temperature all year, you may visit the garden at any time of year. However, the best time to visit the garden is from September to February.
Morning and evening are the greatest times to go for a jog in the garden. Evenings are ideal for picnics and informal gatherings.
A herbal forest, the Nakshatra Van, bamboo woodlands, house plant nurseries, the Ashok Van and a rock garden are all part of the Surat Botanical Garden. One can take the train or sign up for a hot air balloon ride.
