Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) is located in the Tirunelveli district and Kanyakumari district, about 63 km from Tirunelveli. The reserve is accessible by the Ambasamudram-Alangulam Road. The reserve contains the second-largest protected area in Tamil Nadu and is a part of the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve.
