Ulwe Coastal Road to connect MTHL with Navi Mumbai International Airport

Pegged at Rs 700 crore, this project will decongest the traffic situation expected in this area.

In a bid to provide seamless connectivity, Cidco’s ambitious project – the Ulwe Coastal Road will link the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link to the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) at Panvel. Pegged at around Rs 700 crore, this project will decongest the traffic situation expected in this area. It will also contribute to the area’s economic growth.

With the Ulwe Coastal Road, the time taken to travel from Navi Mumbai to Mumbai will be greatly reduced, thus providing commuters with an alternate route as against entry from only the Vashi or Airoili from the Vashi Toll Plaza or the Airoli Toll Plaza currently.

The Ulwe Coastal Road was approved by the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) in August 2023. J Kumar-JMM contractors have been appointed as contractors for this project and construction will start once the Bombay High Court grants Cidco permissions to proceed.

The 7 km coastal road will connect MTHL Junction to Amra Marg Junction in Belapur. Additionally, it will consist of a 1.2-km- elevated link that will connect the Targhar Railway Station to the NMIA.
