All about the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Limited (UPRNNL)

The Uttar Pradesh government-led agency is responsible for carrying out various kinds of construction works in the state and beyond

Among the entities tasked with shaping the construction works in India’s most populous state, is the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Limited (UPRNN). The UPRNN was established in August 1975, with ‘quality, speed and economy’ as its motto, to execute the construction works awarded by the government and its subsidiaries, to abolish middlemen and to provide employment to labourers and technical workers. Apart from building projects across India, the UPRNN has also undertaken overseas projects.

With an aim to eliminate middlemen, the UPRNN carries out civil and electrical works, without sub-letting it to private contractors. It also purchases materials directly from the manufacturers/distributors/dealers, to keep cost escalations in check. Only certain specialised works are executed on contract/outsourced basis under the strict supervision of its staff.

The agency whose mission is ‘to be an Indian multi-national company providing innovative infrastructure solutions, with focus on multi-dimensional buildings and road constructions’, had a turnover of Rs 3,700 crores in FY 2017-18.

The agency also acts as an architectural and structural design consultant for the government. The Jhatpat Connection Scheme is the place to apply if you wish to have electricity connected to your new land area.
