At Moolakadai, National Highway 16 (NH 16) crosses this region toward the southwest. The former Ward 01 (Kodungaiyur West) and Ward 02 (Kodungaiyur East). Following the delineation of zones and wards under the Expanded Chennai Corporation (200 wards), Kodungaiyur would be included in wards 34, 35, 36, and 37.
