December 5, 2023: The union housing and urban affairs ministry in an order issued on December 4, 2023 mentioned that it is mandatory for all states and union territories (UTs) to make sure that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana– Urban (PMAY-U) logo is displayed properly on all the houses that are constructed under the scheme.
The PMAY-U logo has to be standard and agencies cannot modify it in any manner during implementation, said Kaushal Kishore, minister of state for housing and urban affairs, in an written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
Launched on June 25, 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) is a flagship mission of the government of India. It address the issues of urban housing shortage and works towards ensuring a house for all eligible urban households.

PMAY-U scheme is implemented through four verticals

Post the centre’s assistance, the remaining cost of the house as per the detailed plan report (DPR) is given by the states/ union territories.
