Bhopal Housing Board: All you need to know

The Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board (MPHIDB), sometimes referred to as Bhopal Housing Board, is an organisation that is constantly engaged in the business of construction and development of housing, colony and commercial complexes for all sections of the society. 

It was established with the objective of its commitment to customer satisfaction by providing houses/plots/commercial spaces at a reasonable cost with transparent and ethical dealing with clients.

Bhopal Housing Board origin and administration

The MP Home Construction and Infrastructure Development Board was formed under the MP Home Construction Board Act, 1972, which is in place of a similar Act of 1950.

A board of directors governs it, consisting of a chairman appointed by the government, officers of the respective departments/agencies of the state and central government established by the state government, two legislators and two non-official members.

Bhopal Housing Board’s head office is located on the 3rd and 4th floor, Block-3, Paryavas Bhawan, Mother Teresa Road, Bhopal 462 011, Madhya Pradesh. There are seven circle offices under the Deputy Commissioner, two in Bhopal, each in Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Sagar and Rewa.

There are 29 divisional offices under the executive engineer and 73 sub-divisional offices under the assistant engineer.

Four divisional offices under Executive Engineer (Electrical) are working in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Indore, and eight sub-divisional offices under Assistant Engineer are working at Circle Headquarters.

Bhopal Housing Board: Housing activity in the formal urban sector

The Bhopal Housing Board is the single largest builder and creator of real estate in Madhya Pradesh. The average contribution of the Housing Board in undivided Madhya Pradesh is 6,000 buildings and 10,000 plots per year.

Details of achievement in land development and housing

Since its formation till December 2021, 1,85,422 houses have been constructed by the Bhopal Housing Board for various categories. Apart from this, office buildings, shopping complexes, school buildings etc., have also been constructed by the Bhopal Housing Board.

The Bhopal Housing Board has hosted links to two Android apps on its official portal http://www.mphousing.in, namely the MPHIDB app and MPHIDB PMS app. 

The first app lets the user see the e-offer bids, whereas the second app is dedicated to the project monitoring system. This app has been designed explicitly for project monitoring, where sub-engineers will upload many images of the ongoing project for all relevant officers to see and monitor.
