The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has committed Rs 1,000 crore for the Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 project with a provision of Rs 350 crore in the budget estimate for 2023-24, as per an official statement.
The DDA approved its annual budget on 29 March with an outlay of Rs 7,643 crore at the DDA board meeting chaired by Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena. According to the urban body, its focus is on civic infrastructure and the rejuvenation and restoration of the Yamuna floodplains and green areas in the city.
The Delhi Metro Phase 4 project includes three approved Metro corridors, Maujpur to Majlis Park, Janakpuri West to RK Ashram, and Tughlakabad to Aerocity, covering a total length of around 65 km. The Maujpur-Majlis Park section is expected to be completed first. The estimated project cost of three ‘priority corridors’ is around Rs 25,000 crores.
