Ambedkar Scholarship: Eligibility criteria

  1. Students are eligible for financial assistance through scholarships if their parents’ or guardians’ annual income does not surpass Rs. 2,50,000/- (two lakhs and fifty thousand only).

  3. With the following exclusions, these scholarships shall be awarded for pursuing education in any post-matriculation or post-secondary programs recognised by institutions that are also recognised:
  1. To qualify, applicants must have completed matric or any higher examination from a recognised Board or university and be members of a Scheduled Caste as defined by the State/Union Territory to which they belong, i.e. where they have made their permanent home.
  2. Candidates who have already completed one level of education and are currently enrolled in the same level of education in a separate subject (e.g., I.Sc. after I.A., B.Com. after M.A.) will not be considered.
  3. Those who have already earned a degree in one field before applying (e.g., L.L.B. after B.T./B.Ed.) will not be considered. 
  4. Students who are currently enrolled in postgraduate medical programs and are not permitted to practise medicine at the time they are taking such programs will be eligible.
  5. Students who, regardless of whether they passed or failed their undergraduate or postgraduate exams in arts, science, or commerce and then enrolled in any recognised professional or technical certificate, diploma, or degree program are eligible for scholarships, provided they meet the other requirements. Except for the classes in Group I, a second failure will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
  6. In addition to traditional college students, they also welcome correspondence course students. Correspondence courses include both online and traditional distance learning.
  7. Students who are currently employed and whose combined household income does not surpass the maximum authorised income threshold are eligible for post-matric scholarships covering the full cost of all mandatory, non-refundable fees.
  8. The system would provide payments to all youngsters living under the same roof as their parents or legal guardians.

  3. Only OBC applicants mentioned regarding the state/union territory to whom the applicant genuinely belongs, i.e. permanently settled, and who have passed the matric or higher secondary examination of a recognised university or Board of Secondary Education shall be eligible.
  4. Medical postgraduate students who are not licensed to practise throughout their term of study will be considered.
  5. If they qualify, students who enrol in a recognised professional or technical certification, diploma, or degree program will be offered scholarships after losing or passing the undergraduate/post-graduate exams in Arts, Science, or Commerce. Except for courses in Group ‘I,’ a second failure will not be tolerated.
  6. Students who are enrolled in their education via correspondence courses are also eligible. The terms distance learning and ongoing education are included under the umbrella word of “correspondence.”
  7. The program will only allow the benefits to be distributed to a maximum of two children who share the same set of parents or guardians.
