The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) announces housing lotteries on behalf of its various boards such as Mhada Mumbai board, Mhada Pune board, Mhada Konkan board, Mhada Aurangabad board etc.
On August 14, 2023, the Mhada had announced lucky draw of 4,082 units on behalf of the Mumbai board. The intimation letters of the winners are published in the applicant’s login and can be downloaded from the Mhada lottery website.
Also, a new lottery by the Konkan Mhada board, Pune Mhada board and Aurangabad Mhada board is expected to kick off on August 25, 2023, where a total of 10,000 units will be given away. The lucky draw of this lottery is expected to take place in October 2023.

Steps to surrender the Mhada unit
However, what has to be done if you want to surrender a Mhada unit after becoming the winner? Mentioned is the step-by step process to follow.
- Login with your Pan and Password or Pan and OTP on the Mhada lottery mobile app or on to the Mhada lottery website at https://housing.mhada.gov.in/
- Next, go to menu and select the application list.
- Choose the application of which you are the winner and want to surrender.
- Click on the surrender tenement button.
- Mention the reason for surrendering the Mhada tenement.
- Download the filled letter.
- Take a print out of the letter, sign it and submit it to the Mhada department.
How much EMD will be cut if Mhada unit is surrendered?
- Note that if you surrender the tenement before issuing of final provisional offer letter (POL), then you will get your earnest money deposit (EMD) amount refunded.
- If you surrender the tenement after receiving of POL letter, 10 % of the EMD gets deducted and the remaining EMD will be refunded to you.
