RERA Kerala: How to register projects and real estate agents?

All about RERA Kerala

The Kerala Real Estate Regulation and Development Rules were notified in 2018. Previously, the Kerala RERA rules were repealed by the state government, as it seemed to favour the builder fraternity. However, the dedicated portal was re-launched early 2020 and is now fully operational.

RERA Kerala: Latest updates

QR code mandatory for real estate projects from Sep 1: Kerala RERA

August 25, 2023: The Kerala RERA has introduced a Quick Response code (QR code) for each Kerala RERA project. From September 1, 2023, promoters are required to display a QR code on all project promotions and advertisements. The move aims to help homebuyers get information about housing projects easily. The QR code of each project registered under Kerala RERA will be available for download in the promoter’s dashboard on the website, next to the certificate download section. The advertisement and prospectus issued by the promoter specify the Kerala RERA website address and include details of registered projects and the registration number obtained from the authority.

The complainant may, in person or through an advocate, present the case. If legal services are being hired, it should be as per provisions and rules laid out in Section 56 of the Act. If it is found that multiple complaints of the same or similar nature have been filed, seeking similar relief, the Authority can club all these complaints and hear and take action on it through common proceedings. Similarly, even the Adjudicating Officer may dispose of complaints through common proceedings, if the complaints are against, say, a common promoter/builder, or based on similar facts.
