Lalbagh is a beautiful botanical garden situated in Bangalore, India. It was originally commissioned by Hyder Ali, the 18th century ruler of Mysore and his son Tipu Sultan. With an area of 240 acres, it is one of the largest parks in the city and houses over one thousand species of flora and fauna. The exquisite glass house, built in the form of an English conservatory in the year 1889, is one of the main attractions of the garden. The architectural style of this majestic glass house is similar to the Crystal Palace of London. It houses different varieties of plants which are arranged in systematic beds and borders. The park is adorned with four massive watchtowers built in classical architectural style. The towers give a panoramic view of the glorious city of Bangalore. The park also houses a variety of trees such as Peepal, Banyan, Mango, Neem and Rosewood. There are also butterfly and bird parks which attract nature lovers from all over the world. The park is a major tourist destination and hosts many cultural events throughout the year. It also hosts many fairs and festivals around the year, such as the famous flower show every August. A visit to Lalbagh will let you experience a mesmerizing view of this beautiful garden and its exquisite glass house. Read More
