Phaltan is a municipal council, a town, and a tehsil in the Satara district of Maharashtra. The city of Satara is about 59 kilometres southwest of Phaltan and about 110km from the city of Pune. With 17.98°N 74.43°E coordinates, this town is located at an elevation of 568 m and spread over a surface area of 10.28 km2. Some of the most commonly spoken languages here include Hindi, although the official language is Marathi.
