Kodagu District, Karnataka, India

It was under the separate state of Coorg prior to 1956 and then it was fused into the bigger State of Mysore State. It covers 4,102 square kilometers in total and the nearest railway stations are Mysore Junction and Kannur and Thalassery in Kerala. The nearest international airports are Mangalore International Airport and the Kannur International Airport. The region is Malnad and the headquarters are Madikeri. The population stands at 554,519 people as of the year 2011. The coordinates of Kodagu are 12.4208°N 75.7397°E.
