Panaji, popularly known as Panjim, is the capital of the Indian state of Goa and the headquarters of the North Goa district. Located on the banks of the Mandovi river estuary in the Tiswadi tehsil, it is one of Goa's largest urban agglomerations. Being the capital of Goa, the locality houses many government offices and buildings, which makes it one of the most secure areas of the state. Panaji is also the commercial hub of the state. It has all the corporate offices and is a bustling business center. It is a prime residential area with a proximity to the best schools, hospitals, supermarkets, and entertainment centers. This area has many beautiful beaches, churches, and museums, making it an important tourist attraction. Its centralized location makes it easier for people to access North and South Goa from Panaji. It connects to the other parts of Goa via buses and roadways. The airport is located within 11 km of the locality. Panaji is selected under the Smart City Mission as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city. As such, it is one of Goa's most sought-after residential localities.
