Tilak Ali is a quaint locality in Ratnagiri. The place is well connected via roads and rails.
Connected via National Highway 17 (NH 17), the area is linked to Mumbai, Mangaluru,
Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi and Cochin. The stretch that roughly runs north–south along the
western coast of India is parallel to the Western Ghats. It connects Panvel (South of Mumbai
city) to Kochi in Kerala via Ratnagiri. Also, Ratnagiri-Nagpur National Highway, NH-204
connects the region to important cities like Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Nanded, Nagpur and
eastern parts of India. Ratnagiri Railway Station is one of the most important stations on the
Konkan Railway. Further, this line also connects to Delhi and Jaipur. Karbude Tunnel, one of the
Asia's longest tunnels, is located at a short driving distance from Ratnagiri.
