Serampore, is a re-colonial town located on the banks of the gracious Hooghly River. it is connected to Kolkata by four bridges - Howrah Bridge, Vidyasagar Setu, Vivekanand Setu and Nivedita Setu. The famous Grand Trunk Road has its one end point at the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Botanical Garden where the famous Great Banyan Tree stands tall with its full grace. Howrah is witnessing a lot of new industrial proposals like the Kona Truck Terminus and Kolkata West International City.
